oHES Enterprise
Our oHES Enterprise product helps to ensure that, in the case of a new smart or industrial meter purchase that necessarily occurs, when purchasing a new type of meter, the integration of the new Head End System connected to the type of meter does not have to be carried out for each meter purchase. In the case of our product, this can be overcome with a simple driver development. That is why we created the oHES Enterprise multi-supplier platform, so that increasingly diverse networks can be managed with the rise of smart metering.
History business challenges:
With the advent of smart meters, the complexity of metering systems and their external integration with the accounting systems connected to them increased. With the cyclical meter purchases, in every case the manufacturers had to deliver a new Head End System (HES) infrastructure to the customer, who had to implement it and re-integrate it into their current business processes. With a new type of meter, the appearance of a newly implemented HES system imposes additional costs on the utility company’s team. Implementing and operating a new HES system is not only very expensive, but also creates unmanageable complexity in the IT environment. An electric utility (DSO) operating 1 million meters also uses even 30 types of meters, which is increasing with the rise of smart meters. Therefore, it is necessary that the different meter types are accessible from a central Head End System (HES, in our case oHES Enterprise).
Main technical challenges:
Multi-Vendor Environment: Multi-manufacturer platform. The system is suitable for reading meters from several meter manufacturers and for remote software management of devices. The oHES Enterprise must cover the differences and specific characteristics of the meter manufacturers in such a way that it moves the data management processes towards standard communication. The system retrieves raw measurement, operational, network and event data from the meter, no changes are made in data on this layer. After harmonizing the provided data to the standard, they show the same structure and their readability is completely uniform. The layer intelligently takes care of compensating for data gaps resulting from outages and slowdowns of the communication channels on the meter side. Software estimation is not part of the tasks of HES. The platform takes care of scaling due to the difference in the response time of different smart or industrial meters.
Several types of utility providers: An environment suitable for handling the data of several utility providers (electricity, gas, water, heat).
Multi communication: The system must be suitable not only for reading the products of several manufacturers, but also for accessing them through several communication channels (GSM, PLC, CAT-M, NB-Iot). The oHES Enterprise can handle the integration of data concentrators with not only one-to-one, but also many-to-one connections. The goal is fór OHES to mask device-specific properties of meter manufacturers from higher sw layers.
Performance scalability: One of the outstanding features of the oHES Enterprise is the quick readability of meters. Accounting and technical data and events must enter the accounting (SAP) system or the work management system as soon as possible. The oHES Enterprise offers the possibility of mass meter reading. The oHES Enterprise can scale up the software layer and the database layer to the current meters quantity.
Enterprise Architecture: The oHES Enterprise can be integrated in the current IT environment in accordance with the IT requirements of large enerprise companies. The layer must be suitable for remote software management of devices.
Investment-proof: The oHES Enterprise was developed with the latest JAVA Enterprise software and Postgres DB environment. The database can be converted to any SQL database.
Depending on the level of the purchased support contract, the system is available even at the source code level and can be further developed independently.
Operational risk minimization: Our team provides support for the implementation and operation of the system. We recommend a 7-24 support contract to support the operation of the LIVE system.
oHES Enterprise
Customers can view their consumption data using the OHES Portal. Through these, it is possible to check the exact settlement with utility providers or the data of your own use.
oHES Enterprise Meter Installer Module
The HES Mechanics Application module is part of the oHES Enterprise. It is suitable for full on-site reading of the installed meter and SW control.
oHES Enterprise Reporting System Module
The HES Reporting System Module is part of the oHES Enterprise. The module is suitable for generating meter-specific data queries from the HES system.
oHES Enterprise MDM (Meter Data Management)
The platform, based on the oHES Enterprise, already contains consumer locations and consumer data, which is suitable for registering consumer and meter connections. For longer storage of measurement data read by oHES, data transmission to invoicing systems.
